Week 1 Washing hair- Lottie

How to wash the hair:

·      Ask your model if they take any medication

·      Make sure they are wearing a gown, and then place the towel on top.

·      To change the temperature of the water is at the side of the basin

·      Make sure you check behind ear for any lice, as this is a warm area where they normally stay.

·      If you need to go further back ask your model to lift head to change move the basin

·      While shampooing, if the hair does not begin to foam up just add water and more shampoo.

·      Two shampoos and 1 conditioner is required for washing the hair

·      Making sure you use a small amount of shampoo on top of hair.

·      Dandruff can be caused by not rinsing the hair enough, so make sure it is thoroughly rinsed before towel drying the hair.

·      When you squeeze the hair if it squeaks you know its clean.

·      Put conditioner through mid length and ends of hair.

·      Use a small amount conditioner and comb through using a afro comb

·      When the hair has been rinsed out, use the towel to squeeze the hair to get rid of excess water.

·      Clean your combs at basin when finished.
