Crimping hair and High buns

Week 7 Crimping hair and high buns- Lottie

·      Section the hair starting from the bottom
·      Lightly spray thermal heat protector on the hair
·      Begin crimping, work from the root
·      Clamp down the crimpers for at least 10 seconds
·      Moving the crimpers down towards the ends of the hair
·      Once it the hair has been crimped brush out to make hair look frizzy with more volume.

High bun:

·      Section the hair with into two parts, top and bottom.
·      Grab hair rat and start from the bottom wrapping around the hair until it's tightly on top of the head.
·      Get some hairgrips to secure the rat in place.
·      Then with the curvy pins grab a small bit of hair, go up then into the hair rat to finish the design.

This was the image we got given in class as a guideline of what to create.

I developed my skills from using the hair rat as I brought in more hair and created a bigger volume effect. Even though I didn’t place it to the side like the Beyoncé design I wanted to create that lift of lots of hair and for it to stay in place. I also liked crimping the hair because when you brush it out it makes the hair bigger making it easier to use the hair rat. I also learned how to use the hairpins to make the bun secure and to discreetly hide them underneath the hair.
